The hunt for the rarest rotary

#1 Post by DMRH » Sat Jul 02, 2005 6:53 pm

Some will know this most will not. Below is a pic of the rarest production rotary Mazda ever done. The Parkway-26 with the optional 13B.

A grand total of just 44 where sold between 74-76.

Good news is mazda Australia imported one back in the 70's & used it for corporate transport. It was sold off in the 80's & has not surfaced since.

My friends at mazda Australia have been asking around for me as to its current location but if anyone in the Melbourne area knows where this rare rotary is, I would love to learn.

I'm guessing its up for a full resto job but would be worth the effort

When lived in cairns in 95 Ther was a bus like this in the front of a house near cliffton beach. We stoped and looked one day it was wrecked with no motor but on the mazda ID plate had printed 13 B. Could have came from New Gini or TI . Bus was taken to yorkys knob dump and crushed.

All Parkway models of this style have the R100/RX2 tail lights whether they are piston or rotary powered.

Love that pic of the restored Parkway. There is a thread on a NZ forum of a salvaged rotary parkway thats now getting a 13b bridgeport!

Onceakinght...it was most likely a Parkway 26 rotary bus!!!

Most likely a piston model...ive seen a few before in SA before. An old fella down Pt Road owns one, hes a WWII veteran and he told me that he hates Japs when he started talking about being in the war and stuff. Haha funny how he told me that he loves his Mazda Parkway

Would love to see pics of that Kiwi guys Parkway-26. I have seen some one posting stuff on Rotahavik but they used the above pics of Mr Okura's Parkway.

12At_RX-7......... The last pic of the interior is not a Parkway-26. Looks more like a T-3000...?? from the 90's.
