NEW FEATURE: Post Like system!!!

At long last, we have successfully implemented a comprehensive post rating/like system. With casual readers and visitors vastly outnumbering frequent posters, it is not always apparent to users that others are reading, enjoying and grateful for their posts. If you are too shy to post and want to express your thanks, now you can!

Liking a post is easy - click this thumbs up in the top right hand corner of the post: Image

Can I encourage everyone to use this new feature enthusiastically and liberally and be sure to go back to your favourite old topics and like old posts. This will help build up useful user 'like' profiles and give credit to the users who has provided so much value to this community. This in turn helps guests and newcomers sort useful answers and posters from others.

This goes to regular forum lurkers especially - please show your appreciation with a 'like'!

  • Liked post counters in every user profile (given & received)
  • Liked post leaderboard accessible from the index and Quick Links Menu
  • Receive notifications when your post is liked, configurable from the User Control Panel (in forum notification and/or email notifications available or off)
  • You can remove a like if you made a mistake by clicking the undo button where the thumbs up used to sit (but the user will be notified)
  • Plus more

#1 Post by motorculture » Thu Jul 16, 2015 11:56 am

The deadline for CarAdvice’s The Correspondent Competition is quickly approaching! This once in a lifetime opportunity is not to be missed out on. If you like the sound of a paid gig as an automotive journalist and an all expenses paid trip to the Tokyo Motor Show courtesy of Mazda then this is for you. With plenty of entries already flooding in, here are 10 tips to help you put together the best owner review you possibly can.

How to enter:

All you need to do for your chance to win is hop onto, check out the brief and then submit a written or video car review. Three finalists will then be selected to attend auditions in Sydney on 15 August to test-drive the new 2015 Mazda MX-5 with the CarAdvice Expert Panel, including CarAdvice founder Alborz Fallah, TV presenter and car enthusiast Lauren Philips, and Australian WRC Rally Driver Chris Atkinson, who will select the winner.

Don’t forget to jump on the competition website and browse the reviews submitted by the CarAdvice community and vote for your favourite entry. Just by voting you will go into the draw to win a $500 petrol voucher and the entry which receives the most votes will win a $1000 petrol voucher
