NEW FEATURE: Post Like system!!!

At long last, we have successfully implemented a comprehensive post rating/like system. With casual readers and visitors vastly outnumbering frequent posters, it is not always apparent to users that others are reading, enjoying and grateful for their posts. If you are too shy to post and want to express your thanks, now you can!

Liking a post is easy - click this thumbs up in the top right hand corner of the post: Image

Can I encourage everyone to use this new feature enthusiastically and liberally and be sure to go back to your favourite old topics and like old posts. This will help build up useful user 'like' profiles and give credit to the users who has provided so much value to this community. This in turn helps guests and newcomers sort useful answers and posters from others.

This goes to regular forum lurkers especially - please show your appreciation with a 'like'!

Featuring:
  • Liked post counters in every user profile (given & received)
  • Liked post leaderboard accessible from the index and Quick Links Menu
  • Receive notifications when your post is liked, configurable from the User Control Panel (in forum notification and/or email notifications available or off)
  • You can remove a like if you made a mistake by clicking the undo button where the thumbs up used to sit (but the user will be notified)
  • Plus more

I've been to Phil's numerous times over the years and it's always been ok. I recently bought the full RX7 rubber seal kit off Ebay and apart from slow postage I got what I paid for. They contacted me by phone to say one part was on back-order but the rest could be sent. I received all the in-stock parts a few days after they called, just waiting on the other bits now

It looks like Phil's have been busy listing deals (scrub that) dills of the day. About a dozen of their rusted out wrecks are listed on ebay in the 1000-1800 price bracket as "Shells for spare parts", along with lovely descriptions as "Capella Piston Version RX2" and "929 Piston Version RX4 SEDAN". Included are such gems as the 1300 wagon that was "$700 save it from going to scrap" last year, now only $1700. You'd be lucky to be able to salvage anything from these, going on the photos.

Are they moving? Strapped for cash? Dreamers?

Or am I just to cynical?

And... he's just put his prices up! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-CAPELL ... 1179209389 Now only $3300. And our $700 1300 wagon is now only $2700 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-1300-2 ... 1c3bfe76c5. Pretty much doubled the price of everything.
Is it April 1 or something?

Have never had a problem dealing with Phil over the past 17 or so years, he's always been good to us. Having said that, we looked at a rx7 he had for sale a few months back. On the day he wanted $5500 for it, within a couple of hours was listed on Ebay for $7900 and notice he now is trying to sell it for $15000. That I don't get!

Having looked at the last few posts and having dealt with his company over a long period since my first rotor, most experiences were fine as long as you don't need it today.

I wouldn't say I'm a cheerleader but I recently bought the RX7 seal kit off Ebay and it took about 2wks before they contacted me and said the weather strips hadn't come into stock. They part-shipped the rest (some of which were genuine Mazda parts). Then around the time I thought it'd been too long and they'd forgotten about my back order I received delivery of the missing seals.

He's not the most timely but you will get what you've paid for, as long as you buy it at a reasonable price and don't expect it tomorrow.

In case you didn't catch this announcement, Phil's is closing down...

Say what you will, he does carry a lot of parts that aren't available anywhere else. Some of the repro stuff actually isn't that bad. I'm a bit pissed, as a few of the bits I wanted aren't available anymore and no more stock is going to come in. Should have jumped on when I had the chance :x
