Master brake cylinder Mazda 616

#1 Post by Sleuf55 » Mon Dec 18, 2017 8:06 am

Hello. My Mazda 616, LHD, 1976, has a problem with the master brake cylinder.
I'm looking for a new one or for an alternative. Is it the same as a Mazda Rx-2 Series 3; can I use Mazda Rx-7 SA 79-80 Master brake Cylinder?
How can I find out, without getting it out, if the problem is the Master Brake Cylinder and not the Booster?

If the pedal is going to the floor slowly with force applied it is master/piston seals. If fluid is dissappearing and there are no leaks at the cylinders it is probably leaking into the booster. My SA22C did this twice.

Can you describe the symptoms you are getting?

Can't help with interchange. Does a dealer have microfische records you can compare?

I’ve got new brake cilinders rear; brake calipers in good condition. New brake lining rear. Air is out. No leakages. The pedal goes as easy to the floor as the clutch pedal does. There’s a light movement in the reservoir when pushing the pedal. But almost no force.
