Cheers Ben.

I measured up the hub - thickness is roughly 20mm and wheel bolt hole is 30mm, so I'm going with these:

I'll ask the guys at work whether they should drill the entire thread out, or just enough at the back of the hub that the stud can still thread through part of the hub and then have an interference fit on the knurl at the back.

Just remove thread to correct size for stud knurl. Spot face the back so the stud pulls in square. If the head of the stud is thicker than 5mm you will be forced to spot face the back of the hub, no choice cos the disk will hit head of stud.
Best done in milling machine.
Possible this needs engineer for sign off as it is a modification to a critical part. Even though it is a common problem with early Mazda's.

I just used NICE brand studs, drilled the threads out and pressed in the new ones.
Do you remember which part number?

Unfortunately I'd be taking a guess at best. It was some 10 years ago I put these in my Capella. Shouldn't be too difficult to work out though.
