NEW FEATURE: Post Like system!!!

At long last, we have successfully implemented a comprehensive post rating/like system. With casual readers and visitors vastly outnumbering frequent posters, it is not always apparent to users that others are reading, enjoying and grateful for their posts. If you are too shy to post and want to express your thanks, now you can!

Liking a post is easy - click this thumbs up in the top right hand corner of the post: Image

Can I encourage everyone to use this new feature enthusiastically and liberally and be sure to go back to your favourite old topics and like old posts. This will help build up useful user 'like' profiles and give credit to the users who has provided so much value to this community. This in turn helps guests and newcomers sort useful answers and posters from others.

This goes to regular forum lurkers especially - please show your appreciation with a 'like'!

Featuring:
  • Liked post counters in every user profile (given & received)
  • Liked post leaderboard accessible from the index and Quick Links Menu
  • Receive notifications when your post is liked, configurable from the User Control Panel (in forum notification and/or email notifications available or off)
  • You can remove a like if you made a mistake by clicking the undo button where the thumbs up used to sit (but the user will be notified)
  • Plus more

Thanks "KYPREO" :D
I bought this car in November 2006 for what was I think a record price at the time $26,000.
Seems so cheap now !
The car was bought new by a 49 year old lady in Canberra, so the plates aren't original to the car (they are Qld personalized plates) but are correct to the era if the car was sold in Brisbane.
The windscreen rego sticker is from 2014 but now Qld has everything electronic so no more stickers.
Qld Police cars now have devices that scan number plates to see if a car is registered.
Yeah I have all the original documentation to the car, including its Mazda Sales Brochure with the cost of the car written on the brochure.
cheers from your Mazda Enthusiast

 I remember these photos from your build log but I'll gladly drool over them again.

Such a great factory colour.

And that's a bargain price you paid by today's prices! We have gone stickerless rego here too. That said, I am considering getting a 1985 reproduction VicRoads sticker made for my series 3 RX-7. Not as good as an original but I thought it would be a nice touch, along with original Garden State green and white plates which VicRoads can also custom make now 8)

Yeah, amazing, never tire of looking at this.
Glad it ended up in the right hands.
I honestly don't think the stock interior of an RX3 can be improved, (arguably), but so rare to see it anymore.

Hi "BBBABI" re: dash clock..............yeah that's factory correct for Australian delivered RX3 Sedan's (Deluxe).
Only the Super Deluxe Coupe has a factory dash clock fitted.
You could obviously order a clock & have it fitted as the wiring loom is there for the clock.
(Same with the Centre console coin glove box - only on Coupe but could order & fit to Sedan).

Ordering an Automatic was the opposite that is you could only order an automatic in a Sedan not a Coupe (NB USA got an auto Coupe).

The hub caps were only fitted to the 10A RX3 Sedan with 12A RX3 Sedan's getting just the centre cap but all RX3's Coupe's getting this centre cap and the trim dress ring.

Yeah that's right re: Pete.
The original “little old lady” owner was Patti from the ACT, who bought the RX3 when she was 49 years old for $3,562 in November 1974 from “JOHN PALMER MOTORS” in Fyshwick, registering it in her husband’s name.
She was 73 years old when she sold it to the second owner you mention (Pete from the ACT who’s Avatar on here is “RICE RACING”) via a Tender process because her local October 1998 paper advert resulted in her being swamped with offers.
The highest Tendered offer for the RX3 was Pete's at $6,500 - how cheap is that !.
So Pete took ownership in October 1998 with ~49,500 kilometre’s “on the clock”, and then flipped it some 4 weeks later to make a cool near 50% profit (sold for $9,500).
Pete never ended up registering the car in his name, selling it before the Registration was due to expire in November.
I hazard a guess this was the motivation for Patti to sell the car with the rego due in a month and her not really having a use or need for a second car.

Cheers from your Mazda Enthusiast
