Hey, yeah i was over in japan this time last year and i also found these in the convienience stores, I bought all the boxes they had as soon as a saw them, they ended up restocking them to, so I kept buying them, i couldnt find any sa22c till the last box i bought i got a green one. I gave most of my spares away, i kept one of each.

There was also another random box set of like classic cars, old 2000gt and such, one of the set was a 1975 Cosmo AP (cd23) , I thought im never gunna get the one i want....bugger it ill give it a go, and i got the mazda , i couldnt believe it.

I also bought at the toyota museum (they have a real delorian), a Mazda savanna GT (rx3) Tomica limited edition collectors book, It has a little model as well as a book with a heap of articles on rotary motorsport and the rx3 history, unfortunately its in japanese

There are random model shops (glue together models) around the place but from what ive seen you can get them in australia anyway.

There is a few shops hidden around that sell these models. There is also another collection that they sell here with the old Cosmo, RX5 and the old Luce the same size as the RX7 collection

I saw them in almost all the convience stores around the place, conbini are everywhere, I saw them in toy shops as well, like toys r us, there are also shops a few stories high that each floor is dedicated to some kind of collectable, the one i remember was called LA SHOP or something like that , theres heaps of them in akihabara (electronic town) . the floors would be something like - assorted anime figurine sets, kids/soft toys puzzles, gundam (whole floors are dedicated to gundam figures and models) , car/other glue together models, bottom level was usually adult related items and book hehehe.

If your looking for them you will find them, probably wont even have to leave the airport and youll have some in your possesion cause there is heaps of conbini everywhere.
