As a HPA subscriber, I'm really looking forward to setting what they do with the 8474 combo on their FD. Should be great!

Re: 88 RX 7 seat cover replacements

1988. RX 7 convertible Anyone know where to get replacement ready made seat cover - the original seats are starting to crack on a couple of seams. Have seen some IS or Chinese stuff on eBay, but anyone used them or can vouch for them? And, where can I get a roof retraction knob? Thanks Hey roncor R...

Re: Rx7 Side Trim Rubbers - cleaning

Sucks that vinyl revival didn't do the job - as we discussed in your build log, it leaves a super satin finish. It's designed for modern ABS plastic parts, so maybe your idea on the tyre shine is better, since that is specifically designed for rubber. I have used Vinyl Care for my interior plastic a...

Series 3 RX-7 Sport featured on GrassRoots Garage

Didn't see this before now, but thought it was a nice segment. I've seen this car quite a few times and it's a very clean well-looked after example.

Re: RX3 13b Engine Oil Temp

I think the first thing to do is establish how accurate that sender and gauge is. you could use an IR temp gun. Otherwise, since's is a dipstick sender, it should be fairly easy to set up a test rig - measure the gauge against a proper thermometer. Secondly, in my experience sump oil readings aren't...

For future reference purposes.... 7nqdg11c1cbcly9rrqnlaopgo.jpg That looks aftermarket to me - it's a lot smaller than a factory roof. Moon roof was available as a dealer option in the US, but manufactured by Mazda USA's official aftermarket supplier Finish Line, not Mazda Japan. A few people have i...

Re: Mazda RX-7 SA22C / 1st Generation (1978 - 1985)

Thanks Greg, Its a mid 82 build I believe so I am going to guess its been fitted at some stage during the cars life. It makes me a little hesitant to purchase, it also seems to be missing the interior trim around the sunroof which Im guessing would be very hard to find! I think I may have seen this...

Re: Mazda RX-7 SA22C / 1st Generation (1978 - 1985)

Is anyone able to shed some light on Series 2's and sunroofs? I'm in the market, and one I am looking at has a sunroof fitted but I've got no idea if its an original or aftermarket item? Has anyone got pictures of factory fitted ones for reference? To my knowledge, they weren't available as an opti...

Re: Wtb 24 Spline Mazda LSD diff centre Brisbane Qld

He's a good seller and sells genuine parts for reasonable prices. I got all my Mazdaspeed competition engine amd trans mounts from him. I was going to suggest getting a Kia Sportage diff. They are the right size and come in 4.77 usually but also 4.44. But they are 26 spline (same as s3 RX7) so you n...

Re: S5 Turbo 2 Ht18-2S and V Band dump

V bands leak too. I typed out half a post about how you could try making a copper gasket and then re-read the bit I missed saying you already tried that  I want to go down the V band route, I'm personally not aware of an off the shelf option. But you could get a custom backplate machined up in ...

Re: Building a rotor

Hi and welcome to the forum! The most obvious difference is that, unlike all earlier housings, RX-8 housings don't have an exhaust port. Instead, the Renesis engine found on RX-8s have side exhaust ports, so they are integrated into the front, intermediary and rear plate. As such, RX8 rotor housings...

Re: S2 rx7 13b spark plug NGK BR8ET vs BR8EQ-14

The plugs are almost identical and you can tell how by the product code. In common: B = 14mm R = resistor type 8 = heat rating E = 19mm thread reach difference between the two plugs is as follows: T = 3 ground electrodes Q = 4 ground electrodes 14 = 1.4mm plug gap (wider than standard 1.05mm gap) Th...

Re: 13b oil filter question.

Mazda usually stocks both sizes - small and large, but always give you the smaller one unless you specifically ask for the larger one. The part numbers are always changing, as the oil filter is shared across every single Mazda model. Mazda updates this from time to time. Further, what you get from M...
